10th Salon du Terroir of Rueil-Malmaison Hippodrome de Saint-Cloud

 

An exceptional 10th edition!

The year 2000 marked the 10th anniversary of the "Salon du Terroir" which is an exhibition organized each year by the "Maison du Tourism" of Rueil-Malmaison. One hundred and fifty participants from France and the DOM-TOM gather on 2000m2 at the racecourse of Saint Cloud, to present their products and services of gastronomy, artisanat and tourism.

Our stand

On this occasion and to celebrate the first anniversary of its website, Terroirs de France had organized a contest, the "Initiative du Terroirs". On the 11th November at 6:00 p.m. Terroirs of France presented the first prize for the performance in the development and promotion of a local know-how.

 


The choice of the jury was very difficult as the presentations received competed closely in quality. We would like to thank all the participants, which are:

The suspense goes on ... the name of the winner is in the enveloppe ... 

 

Mme Patricia GAUTHIER, commissaire général of the salon du Terroir of Rueil-Malmaison, announces the result and mentions the names of the participants of this first contest "Initiative du Terroir" in the presence of Mr Serge DURMAN, General Manager of AF Plus Terroirs de France.

Inspired by Mr. Gilles QUESNEAU, the typical cuisine of "La Bourriche aux Appetits" is the preparation of recipes made of fish of the "Loire" region. The "sandres", "estrugeons"(sturgeon), "anguilles" (eel), "ecrevisses" (crayfish), "carpes" (carp), and "brochets" (pike) based terrines and dishes are its main specialties. "La Bourriche aux Appetits" also receives groups for an expedition of sampling the flavors of the region, discovering the cultural and economic heritage, and finding out the history of the bargemen.

All the participants will automatically be candidates for next year's contest, which will be organized in the context of the "Salon du Terroir 2001". In the meantime, each month our magazine online will feature an article about each participant and their regions.
